INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO ORDER A ROPE

To avoid any mistakes, when asking for prices or when ordering, please clearly state the type of rope that is required.


The following information is to be provided:

  1. number of ropes and length of each rope;
  2. type of material: bright, galvanized, stainless steel, etc;
  3. diameter;
  4. costruction; type of core;
  5. resistance;
  6. direction and type of lay;
  7. preformed or non-preformed;
  8. prestretched or non-prestretched;
  9. accessories, if needed


Example:
1x100 metres (useful length) of 18 mm bright, steel rope; made of 6x19 Seale wires + 1 (fiber core), resistance of 1770 N/mm2 = 180 Kgf/mm2, right-hand ordinary lay, preformed.


If any of the above information is not provided, the rope supplied will be of a type that is available, and of the nearest features.
We advise to state the intended use of the rope at all times.

Customers asking for our advice on how to increase the life-span of the ropes for an existing installation, should provide the following information:

  1. features of ropes presently used (see above list) and their actual performance
  2. a sketch/drawing of the lay inclusive of all data concerning pulley and drums such as diameters, size of grooves, pitch of races on the drum, hoisting height;
  3. duty rate;
  4. rated load and maximum load;
  5. number of layers of a rope on a drum with hoisted load;
  6. particular conditions such as corrosive atmosphere, exposure to high temperatures, etc.
